These are the terms for ordering from Red Barn Jewelers, in Canyon, Texas. By placing an order you agree to them.
Handmade, from old silverware
Every piece is made by hand from vintage and antique spoons, forks and knives. No two are the same. Patterns, wear, small marks and color vary, and the piece you receive may differ a little from photos or from the one a friend has. That is the nature of the thing, not a defect.
Metal and skin
Most old silverware is silver plated over a base metal, which can include nickel, and some is stainless steel or sterling. We cannot promise what a given piece is made of. Plating wears with use and may tarnish or mark the skin. If you have a metal allergy or sensitive skin, please think about that before ordering, and stop wearing a piece that irritates you.
Ring size
We make the ring to the size you give us. At the stand we measure your finger. Online, the size is the one you tell us, so please have it measured. A spoon ring has an open wrap and can be adjusted a little by hand.
Your own silverware
We are glad to make a piece from silverware you bring or send. Old metal can be brittle, and bending it can crack or break it, even with care. By giving us your silverware you accept that risk. We cannot replace or pay for a piece that breaks, and the leftover part of the utensil is cut away in the making. Silverware sent to us travels at your risk.
Price and payment
The price is the one shown when you order. You pay at the stand, or by Venmo or Cash App. Payment is made directly to us through those services and under their terms, not through this website. Online orders are made once payment arrives.
Timing, shipping and drop-off
Wait times at the stand are our honest estimate, not a promise. We make online orders within one week of payment, then ship them or drop them off. In Amarillo and Canyon we leave local orders in your mailbox at no charge. Everywhere else we ship within the United States for $6. Once a package is handed to the carrier, or left in your mailbox, it is yours. Please make sure the address you give us is right.
If something is wrong
Made to order pieces cannot be returned. If yours does not fit or something is wrong with it, tell us within 14 days and we will adjust it or make it again.
Custom work
A custom request is a conversation, not an order. Nothing is made and nothing is owed until you and Canyon have agreed on the design and the price. Custom pieces are made for you alone and cannot be returned.
This website
We work to keep this site running and correct, but it is provided as is, and now and then it may be down or show a wrong wait time. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any order is limited to the price you paid for it. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to order. This site is built to work with screen readers, keyboards and large text. If any part of it gets in your way, tell us at the stand, and we will take your order another way and fix the problem.
